About
Ouzel Campground is a rustic, tent-only campground located along the scenic South Platte River in Pike National Forest at an elevation of 6,200 feet. The campground features 13 campsites available on a first-come, first-served basis with no advance reservations. Each site is equipped with a picnic table and fire ring, accommodating up to 8 people, 2 tents, and 2 vehicles per site. The campground operates year-round, though services vary by season. During peak season, portable toilets are available, but visitors should note there is no potable water on-site at any time of the year. Extended season camping is available when services such as water, trash, or a host may not be present. The location offers access to fishing and hiking opportunities along the South Platte River corridor. Dogs are permitted but must be leashed at all times. Fires are allowed only in designated fire rings within the campground. The area is popular with anglers and visitors seeking a quiet, riverside camping experience. Much of the property along the river is privately owned, so visitors should respect posted signs and stay within designated campground boundaries.
