About
Cherry Creek Campground sits along the shores of Hebgen Lake on the Hebgen Lake Ranger District of the Custer Gallatin National Forest. Located just 14 miles from West Yellowstone, it provides convenient access to Yellowstone National Park while offering a quieter, more rustic camping experience than the busy park campgrounds. The campground features 9 campsites available strictly on a first-come, first-served basis. Sites vary in size with driveway spurs ranging from 25 to 70 feet, making some suitable for larger RVs and trailers. Payment can be made on-site using the Recreation.gov mobile app's Scan and Pay feature, though campers should download the app before arrival due to limited cellular service in the area. This is a primitive campground with minimal amenities. No potable water or restrooms are available, so campers must come fully prepared and self-sufficient. Trash service is provided, and firewood can be purchased at the nearby Lonesomehurst Campground host site for $10 per bundle. The campground operates from May through September, weather dependent.
