About

Cabin Creek Campground occupies a scenic setting in southwestern Montana's Custer Gallatin National Forest, nestled in a mature pine and Douglas fir forest across the road from the Madison River. Located between Hebgen Lake and Earthquake Lake, the campground is just 25 minutes from West Yellowstone and Yellowstone National Park's west entrance. The 15 single-family campsites are equipped with picnic tables and fire rings, with vault toilets and potable water available throughout. The 6-mile Cabin Creek Trail begins at the campground, open to hikers and horseback riders. Earthquake Lake is less than three miles away, offering fishing and canoeing, while the visitor center provides interpretive displays on the dramatic 1959 earthquake and landslide. Hebgen Lake is considered Montana's premier still-water fishery, with healthy populations of brown, cutthroat, and rainbow trout. Bears frequent the area, so food storage in approved containers is required. Firewood is available for purchase at $10 per bundle. The campground has one ADA-accessible site with accessible fire grates, tables, and toilet facilities. Sites accommodate trailers and small RVs with average parking spurs of 22 by 30 feet.
