Carolina Beach State Park

Open year-round. The park is closed only on Christmas Day. Reservations are available through ReserveAmerica.

About

Carolina Beach State Park sits along the Cape Fear River and Snow's Cut near Wilmington, offering 79 campsites in a shaded coastal forest. The campground includes 69 sites without hookups and 10 sites with full hookups (water, electric, and sewer), plus six camper cabins that sleep up to six people with heating and air conditioning. Every site has a picnic table and fire ring or grill, and long driveways can accommodate RVs of all sizes. A centrally located bathhouse provides flush toilets and hot showers, with potable water spigots distributed throughout the campground. Trash and recycling bins are available, and firewood is sold on site. Three ADA-accessible campsites and one accessible cabin are available for campers with mobility needs. The park is notable for protecting one of the few remaining habitats where Venus flytraps grow wild. Hiking trails wind through diverse ecosystems including longleaf pine savanna and pocosin wetlands. A marina provides boat access to the river and Intracoastal Waterway, making this an excellent base for both terrestrial and water-based recreation.
