Boulder Group Camp offers an ideal setting for large family gatherings or group camping excursions in the pine-covered mountains of Southern California. Situated at 7,650 feet elevation in a somewhat secluded stand of mature conifers south of Big Bear Lake, the single group site provides shade and privacy while remaining accessible to the area's abundant recreation opportunities. The campground features five picnic tables, a double pedestal grill, and a group fire ring for evening gatherings. Vault toilets are provided, but there is no potable water or trash collection, so campers must bring their own water supply and pack out all refuse. The site is accessed via a dirt forest road (Forest Road 2N10B), and a standard SUV, 4x4, or vehicle with higher clearance is required. Nearby attractions include hiking and mountain biking trails such as the Seven Oaks Trail, which leads to views of San Gorgonio Peak, the highest point in Southern California. Big Bear Lake offers fishing for trout, bass, bluegill, and catfish, along with boating and swimming. The Big Bear Discovery Center, about 10 miles away, provides visitor information, educational programs, and an interpretive trail.

Directions

From San Bernardino, take I-10 east to Running Springs. Continue on Highway 18 to Big Bear Lake Dam, but do not cross the dam. Go 3 miles and turn right on Tulip Lane. Turn right on Mill Creek Road (Forest Road 2N10) and continue about 2 miles. Turn on Forest Road 2N10B and travel a short distance to the campground.
