About

Blue Licks Battlefield State Resort Park campground offers 51 campsites with electric hookups and 6 primitive tent sites along the scenic Licking River. The campground sits at a historically significant location where the last Revolutionary War battle in Kentucky took place in 1782. Throughout history, the salt springs at Blue Licks have attracted prehistoric animals, Native Americans, and pioneers including Daniel Boone. The campground features a central service building with showers and restrooms, a dump station, and access to park amenities including the Pioneer Museum, hiking trails, miniature golf, and the lodge with dining facilities. Campsites accommodate RVs up to 50 feet with back-in driveways ranging from 32 to 50 feet. The park offers several hiking trails including the River Trail, a one-mile loop to the Licking River near where Daniel Boone and his men were once captured by Shawnee Indians. Other trails include the Buffalo Trace, Savannah Loop, Indian Run Loop, and Blue Licks Heritage Trail. The campground is located 48 miles northeast of Lexington on US Highway 68, with easy access to nearby attractions including the Kentucky Horse Park.
