About

White Sulphur Horse Camp serves as a gateway for equestrian enthusiasts exploring the rugged terrain of Daniel Boone National Forest in eastern Kentucky. This primitive campground near Cave Run Lake provides direct access to an extensive network of over 50 miles of multiple-use trails that traverse forested hills and limestone ridges. Riders can connect to both the Pioneer Weapons Wildlife Management Area and the renowned Sheltowee Trace National Recreation Trail #100. The camp features picket lines and watering troughs for horses, with water available for stock but not for human consumption. Vault toilets and picnic tables are provided at campsites. The parking area is designed to accommodate up to 30 vehicles with trailers up to 50 feet in length, making it suitable for groups and organized rides. A negative Coggins test is required for all horses per Kentucky Department of Agriculture regulations for equine infectious anemia, along with a valid certificate of veterinary inspection. The campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis with self-pay fee envelopes accepting cash or check only.
