About

Clear Creek Recreation Area sits surrounded by the rolling forested hills of Daniel Boone National Forest in Bath County, Kentucky. The 20-site primitive campground overlooks the 40-acre Clear Creek Lake, which is stocked with bluegill, bass, and catfish and open to non-motorized and electric watercraft. A boat ramp provides lake access, while a nearby picnic area features the remnants of an 1800s-era iron furnace. The campground provides excellent trail access for hikers and backpackers. The Sheltowee Trace National Recreation Trail (#100), Clear Creek Lake Trail (#103), and Buck Creek Trail (#118) are all accessible from the area and connect to over 50 miles of trails. Each campsite includes a tent or RV pad, picnic table, fire ring, and lantern pole. Potable water is available from faucets, and vault toilets are on site. This is a primitive campground with no electricity, showers, or hookups. Camping operates on a first-come, first-served basis with payment via fee envelope at the site. Federal Interagency Passes are honored, with Senior and Access passes providing a 50% discount on single sites.
