About

Twin Knobs Campground is part of a 700-acre recreation area on the north shore of Cave Run Lake in northeastern Kentucky. The campground offers over 200 sites distributed across 10 loops under a dense canopy of mixed hardwoods and conifers. Sites range from standard nonelectric tent sites to premium RV sites with full hookups (electric, water, and sewer). Electric service includes 20, 30, and 50 amp options. Facilities include multiple bathhouses with flush toilets and hot showers, potable water spigots throughout the grounds, a dump station, and a camp store. Every site has a picnic table and fire ring. The recreation area features a sandy swim beach, a boat ramp exclusive to registered campers, volleyball and basketball courts, and horseshoe pits. Two scenic trails depart from the campground: the 2.5-mile Twin Knobs Shoreline Trail and the 1.5-mile Knob Overlook Trail. Cave Run Lake is popular for fishing, motor boating, sailing, windsurfing, and water skiing. Summer programming includes amphitheater events and scheduled campground activities.
