About
Blanchard Springs Recreation Area is located in the heart of the Ozark National Forest, offering visitors a quintessential Ozark camping experience among rolling hills, hidden caverns, waterfalls, and clear flowing streams. The campground features 17 individual campsites suitable for smaller RVs and tents, plus two group sites that can accommodate 8-30 and 8-50 people respectively. Sites are well-shaded by stately yellow pine trees and positioned near picturesque rock bluffs and the crystal clear North Sylamore Creek. The recreation area serves as an excellent base camp for exploring the region's diverse outdoor opportunities. Trout fishing is available at nearby Mirror Lake, while swimming is popular in the spring-fed waters of North Sylamore Creek. The North Sylamore hiking trail follows scenic Sylamore Creek for 25 miles and connects to the Ozark Highland Trail, providing options for day hikes or extended backpacking trips. Mountain bikers can explore 50 miles of the renowned Syllamo Mountain Bike Trail system. The world-class Blanchard Springs Caverns, featuring guided tours and exhibits, is just minutes from the campground. All campsites come equipped with picnic tables, grills, and campfire rings. The campground provides flush toilets and drinking water when operational. Two picnic pavilions and an amphitheater are available for group events. Individual campsites operate on a first-come, first-served basis, while group sites and pavilions can be reserved through Recreation.gov. The campground may experience closures during periods of high water on North Sylamore Creek.
