About
Mill Creek Park is situated on the upper portion of Greers Ferry Lake in the scenic Ozark Mountains of north-central Arkansas. This Corps of Engineers campground provides 31 non-electric campsites available on a first-come, first-served basis, making it ideal for spontaneous camping trips. The campground is surrounded by dense forests of red cedar, black gum, red oak, elm, pecan, and sweet gum trees that offer shade during summer and brilliant fall colors in autumn.
Greers Ferry Lake is a 30,000-acre outdoor recreation destination offering excellent opportunities for boating, sailing, water skiing, swimming, scuba diving, and fishing. The area features three National Nature Trails and a multi-purpose fitness trail for hikers. Wildlife is abundant, with frequent sightings of white-tailed deer, wild turkeys, rabbits, squirrels, and numerous bird species.
The William Carl Garner Visitor Center, located west of the dam, showcases exhibits and a replica of the world record 40-pound, 4-ounce brown trout caught in the Little Red River. With eighteen parks around the shoreline providing boat ramps, swim areas, and marinas, Mill Creek serves as an excellent base camp for exploring the entire Greers Ferry Lake recreation area.
