About

Big Pine Flat Family Campground is a remote, high-elevation campground in the San Bernardino National Forest, situated at 6,820 feet among pine trees. The 19-site campground operates on a first-come-first-served basis with an on-site campground host during the season. Each site accommodates up to 8 people and includes a picnic table and fire ring. Drinking water is available on site, though there are no restrooms, making this a more primitive camping experience. Access to the campground requires navigating approximately 7 miles on Forest Road 3N14, a dirt road that may require higher clearance vehicles. The maximum trailer or RV length is 30 feet due to spur sizes. Dogs are permitted but must be on a leash no longer than six feet. The campground is located in the Big Bear area of the forest and provides access to nearby OHV trails including Big Pine Flat OHV Road 3N92. For current conditions and fire restrictions, contact the Big Bear Discovery Center.
