About
Big Bend of the Colorado State Recreation Area sits along the Colorado River just below Davis Dam, where the released water remains cool and clear year-round. The 32-site campground divides into two areas: a main loop of 24 reservable sites designed for RVs with full water, electric, and sewer hookups, and a secondary area with 8 first-come-first-served walk-in sites behind the main loop.
The RV loop features mostly pull-through pads that accommodate rigs of any size, along with tent pads, shade ramadas, barbecue grills, and fire pits. Three ADA-accessible sites are available. The walk-in sites each include a fire ring, picnic table, and shade structure, with a short walk to the shared restroom and shower facilities. The river serves as the primary attraction, offering swimming, kayaking, canoeing, and year-round trout fishing in the clear tailwaters below the dam.
Reservations are made through Reserve Nevada and recommended for the hookup sites. The park limits camping to 14 days within any 30-day period. Park hours vary seasonally, generally opening at 7 a.m. and closing between 5 and 7 p.m. depending on the time of year.
