Bench Creek Campground is a small, primitive campground situated along Bench Creek in the Salmon-Challis National Forest, just off Highway 21 between Boise and Stanley. The campground offers 5 shaded sites nestled among the trees, providing a quiet base for exploring the surrounding wilderness. Each site is equipped with a picnic table and fire ring with cooking grill for campfire cooking. Facilities are basic, with a vault toilet on site but no drinking water available. Campers should bring all necessary water supplies. The campground has a 16-foot maximum length restriction, making it suitable for tent camping and small trailers only. All sites are first-come, first-served with no reservations accepted. Recreational opportunities include fishing in Bench Creek and nearby Bull Trout Lake. A trail adjacent to the campground heads southeast toward Stanley Lake, offering hiking access into the surrounding forest.

Directions

From Stanley: 24 miles northwest on Highway 21, located on the right side of the highway. From Boise: Approximately 108 miles northeast on Highway 21 toward Stanley, past Banner Summit, located on the left side of the highway.
