Bench Creek Campground is a small, intimate campground located along Bench Creek near Highway 21 in the Salmon-Challis National Forest. With only 5 sites nestled in the trees, this campground offers a quiet retreat for those seeking a peaceful mountain experience. The campground provides access to fishing in Bench Creek and nearby Bull Trout Lake, making it popular with anglers. A trail adjacent to the campground heads southeast toward Stanley Lake, offering hikers opportunities to explore the surrounding wilderness. Each campsite is equipped with a picnic table and fire ring with cooking grill. The campground has a vault toilet but no potable water, so visitors must bring their own. The campground can accommodate smaller trailers and motorhomes up to 30 feet long, though the maximum RV length is listed as 16 feet for optimal maneuvering. Located approximately 24 miles northwest of Stanley and 108 miles northeast of Boise on Highway 21, Bench Creek Campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis with a modest nightly fee. Senior and Access pass holders receive a 50% discount on camping fees.
