About

Bear Springs Campground is located on the southeastern edge of Mt. Hood National Forest at 3,000 feet elevation, positioned along Indian Creek at the border with the Warm Springs Reservation. The setting features towering ponderosa pine and fir trees that create a shaded, secluded atmosphere. Deer and other wildlife are commonly spotted throughout the area. The campground provides both single-family sites and group tent-only areas, each equipped with a picnic table and fire ring with grill. Vault toilets and trash collection are available. Firewood can be purchased from the campground host. Note that potable water is not available, so campers must bring their own water supply. No utility hookups are offered. Recreation options abound in the surrounding area. Fishing is available directly in Indian Creek. The Deschutes River, approximately 24 miles away, offers excellent rafting and kayaking. Government Camp and the Mt. Hood area are about 19 miles away, and various hiking and OHV trails are accessible nearby.
