About

Atlanta Cabin is located in the historic mining town of Atlanta, Idaho, at an elevation of 5,800 feet. Built in 1933 by the Civilian Conservation Corps and the Forest Service, it is part of the Atlanta Ranger Station Historic District, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The cabin has been modernized while retaining its historic character, offering guests a unique opportunity to stay in a piece of Idaho's forest service history. The cabin accommodates up to four people with a full-size hide-a-bed in the living room and a queen bed in the kitchen. Modern amenities include a full kitchen with propane stove, refrigerator, sink with hot water, indoor bathroom with flush toilet and shower, electricity, and propane wall heaters. Outside amenities include a picnic table, fire ring, and pedestal grill. The cabin is surrounded by grassy meadows and lodgepole pines, with the front porch offering stunning views of the Sawtooth Wilderness and 9,363-foot Greylock Mountain. The location provides access to excellent recreation opportunities including the Middle Fork Boise River Trail and Powerplant Trail for hiking and horseback riding, extensive OHV trail networks, trout fishing in the Middle Fork Boise River, and nearby natural hot springs at Atlanta, Powerplant, and Chattanooga. The historic town of Atlanta offers a glimpse into Idaho's 1860s gold and silver rush era.
