Ashley Lake North Campground is located on the scenic north shore of Ashley Lake in Montana's Flathead National Forest, approximately 16.5 miles from Kalispell. This small, rustic campground features 6 campsites plus a camp host site, providing an intimate lakeside camping experience. The facility includes vault toilets, picnic tables at each site, fire rings, and an informational kiosk. No potable water is available, so visitors must bring their own. The campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis with no reservation system and no camping fees. A 5-day stay limit applies, with quiet hours enforced from 10 PM to 6 AM. The lakefront location offers direct access to Ashley Lake for both motorized and non-motorized boating, as well as swimming opportunities. The nearby Ashley Lake Boat Launch and Day Use Site provides additional lake access. Access to the campground is via Highway 2 west from Kalispell, turning onto Ashley Lake Road #912 and following the north shore road for approximately 5 miles past the boat launch. The remote setting and basic amenities make this an ideal destination for campers seeking a quiet, back-to-basics experience on a beautiful mountain lake.
Directions
Located 16.5 miles from Kalispell. Take Highway 2 west out of Kalispell. Turn right onto Batavia Lane. Continue straight onto Ashley Lake Road #912. Turn right onto the north shore road and go 5 miles on #912. Pass the Ashley Lake Boat Launch and Day Use Site. Turn left into the campground.
