About
White Oak Lake State Park encompasses 725 acres in the West Gulf Coastal Plain region of southwest Arkansas, centered around White Oak Lake, a 2,765-acre timber-filled reservoir known for bass, crappie, catfish, and bream fishing. The quiet park provides a haven for anglers and nature enthusiasts with abundant watchable wildlife and birding opportunities. The campground features 45 sites with varying levels of amenities: four Class A sites with water and 50-amp electrical service, 37 Class B sites with water and 30-amp electrical service, and four tent sites. All campsites are served by a newly renovated private bathhouse. The sites are situated near the water, providing lakeside access and scenic views. Recreational opportunities extend beyond fishing and camping. The park maintains multiple trails including the Fern Hollow Multi-Use Trail for mountain biking, and hiking trails like Beech Ridge Trail, Coastal Plain Trail, and Spring Branch Trail that wind through marshlands and up to ridges. The visitor center houses exhibits including displays about nearby Poison Spring Battleground State Park, located just 8 miles away. A store offers fishing supplies, and the marina provides boat rentals including 16-foot fishing boats, kayaks, paddleboards, and pedal boats. Bicycle rentals are available at the visitor center. During summer months, the park offers interpretive programs led by seasonal staff.
