About

Alpine Ridge Campground sits on the western shore of DeGray Lake in the foothills of the Ouachita Mountains. Managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, this Class A facility offers 49 electric campsites with the most modern amenities in the area. The 13,500-acre DeGray Lake is recognized as one of the region's five Diamond Lakes, celebrated for exceptionally clear waters fed by the Caddo River. The campground provides electric hookups at every site, flush toilets, hot showers, a sanitary dump station, a convenient boat ramp, swimming beach, and playground. The lake draws visitors from across the region for fishing tournaments, triathlons, and various water sports including boating, water skiing, and kayaking. Anglers pursue the lake's stocked game fish, particularly the abundant hybrid striped bass that make it ideal for both boat and bank fishing. The area's history traces back to the Caddo Indians, whose remains date to 700 A.D. These early agricultural settlers grew beans, squash, maize, and sunflowers. Today, the campground's heavily treed and shaded sites provide a peaceful retreat. Nearby attractions include DeGray Lake Resort State Park with golf, tennis, and horseback riding along 207 miles of shoreline, plus the Ouachita National Forest and Hot Springs National Park.

Directions

From Interstate 30, take exit 73 and merge onto State Highway 8 west for 19 miles. Turn right on Fendley Road and continue 8.5 miles to the campground.
