Mount Magazine State Park Campground occupies the former USDA Forest Service Cameron Bluff Campground site atop Mount Magazine, Arkansas' highest peak at 2,753 feet. The campground features 18 full-hookup sites including two Class AAA sites with 50-amp electric service and 16 Class AA sites with 30-amp service, many offering tent-only configurations. All sites include water, electric, and sewer connections. The campground includes a barrier-free bathhouse with hot showers and flush toilets, as well as an RV dump station. The facility operates year-round, though restroom facilities are only open from March 15 through November 15. Located within the Ozark-St. Francis National Forests, the campground serves as a base for exploring numerous hiking trails, scenic overlooks, and outdoor activities including mountain biking, rock climbing, and hang gliding. Campers should be aware that Mount Magazine has one of the highest black bear populations in Arkansas. The park has installed bear-resistant trash cans and provides guidelines for food storage and bear safety. The setting offers dramatic views of the Petit Jean River Valley and Blue Mountain Lake, with the park's visitor center, lodge, restaurant, and trail system all accessible from the campground.
