Argyle Lake State Park Campground sits within a 1,700-acre heavily wooded landscape in northwestern Illinois, centered around a scenic 93-acre lake. The campground operates three distinct areas to accommodate different camping styles: Twisted Oak offers 86 Class A sites with electricity and access to a shower building, Big Oaks provides 24 Class B/E electric-only sites plus 18 Class C vehicle-access sites, and Twin Oaks has 31 primitive Class D sites for those seeking a more rustic experience. The park is known as a fisherman's delight, with the lake supporting bass and other game fish. A full-service concession area near the water offers boat rentals and supplies. Five miles of foot trails wind through the forested terrain, and additional recreational opportunities include an archery range, equestrian trails, mountain biking, and seasonal hunting. Six ADA-accessible campsites are distributed across three campground areas, featuring concrete pads and wheelchair-accessible picnic tables and grills. The Twisted Oak shower building includes accessible toilet and shower facilities. An accessible fishing dock and boat dock with concrete ramps are located near the concession building.
