About
Abbott Campground is a semi-primitive, first-come, first-served campground composed of 7 single campsites and 2 double campsites nestled along the South Fork of the Boise River within a stand of towering ponderosa pine trees. Located in the Fairfield Ranger District of Sawtooth National Forest, the campground offers a peaceful riverside setting approximately 2 miles east of Featherville. Campground amenities include picnic tables, utility tables, fire rings at each site, and two vault toilet restrooms. No potable water is available, so campers must bring their own. The South Fork of the Boise River provides excellent opportunities for tubing and fishing, making this a popular destination for water-based recreation. A footbridge located on the west end of the camping area crosses the river and provides access to the Abbott Gulch area for hiking and exploration. This primitive campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis with no advance reservations. Fees are $6 per night for single sites and $12 per night for double sites. Campsites must be occupied each night, pets must be leashed, and all campfires must be attended. UTVs, ATVs, and motorcycles are allowed for riding in and out of the campground only. Sites are gravel and native material with no hookups.
Directions
