About
Williams Creek Campground occupies a scenic stretch of San Juan National Forest among cedar, aspen, and ponderosa pines. The 61 sites spread across six loops (A-F), with options including single, double, and triple sites. Several campsites sit directly on the banks of Williams Creek, which flows along the eastern edge of the campground, while others offer views of the surrounding mountains. The campground provides vault toilets, potable water, picnic tables, and fire grates at each site. A limited number of premium sites include water and sewer hookups. Pull-through and back-in sites accommodate RVs up to 45 feet. There is no dump station on site; the nearest is in Pagosa Springs. Firewood is available for purchase from the camp host. Recreation options abound. Williams Reservoir lies one mile away for fishing and kayaking. ATV enthusiasts access Poison Park Road and East Fork Road to Silver Falls. Hikers can reach Piedra Falls nearby or tackle longer routes like the Cimarrona Trail and Williams Creek Trail, both connecting to the Continental Divide Trail through the Weminuche Wilderness.
Directions
From Pagosa Springs, travel 2.5 miles west on US Highway 160. Turn right on Piedra Road (FR 600) and drive about 16 miles. Continue on FR 631 for 6.2 miles, then turn right onto Williams Creek Road (FR 640) and proceed about 0.5 miles to the campground entrance.
