About
Bridge Campground is a developed Forest Service campground located along the Piedra River corridor in San Juan National Forest. The campground features 19 spacious sites spread across a flat, open area, with many offering views of the dramatic high peaks to the north. All sites are available on a first-come, first-served basis with no advance reservations. The campground provides access to excellent stream fishing in the Piedra River and surrounding waters. Hunters also frequent the area during hunting season. Several trailheads a few miles away provide access to the Weminuche Wilderness and Piedra Area for backpacking and day hiking. Facilities include vault toilets and potable water. Sites accommodate RVs up to 35 feet. The campground is accessed via Piedra Road (Forest Road 631), which is suitable for most vehicles and maintained year-round, though the campground itself operates seasonally from May through September.
Directions
From Pagosa Springs, travel 2.0 miles west on U.S. Highway 160, then turn northwest on Piedra Road (Forest Road 631) for 18.0 miles. Piedra Road is open year-round and suitable for most vehicles.
