About
Hurricane Bridge Recreation Area occupies a scenic peninsula on Center Hill Lake, offering sweeping water views on three sides. Managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the area provides boat access to the 64-mile-long lake formed by the Caney Fork River. Two boat ramps and a dock serve boaters, anglers, and water sports enthusiasts pursuing walleye, smallmouth bass, crappie, catfish, and bream. The centerpiece facility is a large group picnic shelter that can accommodate up to 125 guests, equipped with 15-amp electric and water hookups. Flush toilets and drinking water are available on-site. The Old 56 Trail offers 0.9 miles of paved walking along the lakeshore. Nearby attractions include Edgar Evins State Park (20 minutes away) with its observation tower overlooking Center Hill Lake, and Burgess Falls State Park (30 minutes) featuring a 250-foot series of waterfalls on the Falling Water River. The Caney Fork River below Center Hill Dam is one of Tennessee's most productive trout fisheries.
