About

Badin Lake Campground offers a year-round retreat for campers seeking lakefront access in the Uwharrie National Forest. The campground sits within a dense forest of pines and hardwoods along the shore of 5,000-acre Badin Lake, providing both shaded sites and waterfront locations. The 35 non-electric sites are split between an Upper Loop (sites 23-35) and Lower Loop (sites 1-22), with each site equipped with a picnic table, fire ring, grill, lantern post, and tent pad. Facilities include flush toilets and hot showers in both loops, along with drinking water spigots throughout. A campground host is stationed at site 12. The campground accommodates both tent campers and RVs/trailers up to 40 feet, though site dimensions vary so checking individual site specifications when booking is advised. Popular activities include swimming, boating, and fishing for bass, bream, crappie, and catfish. A boat ramp is located 2 miles from the campground. The surrounding forest offers approximately 40 miles of non-motorized trails for hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding, plus 17 miles of OHV trails open April 1 through December 15.
