About

Arrowhead Campground is nestled in a dense forest of pine, oak, and hickory near the shores of 5,000-acre Badin Lake in Uwharrie National Forest. The campground serves as an excellent base for exploring the Badin Lake Recreation Area, offering comfortable accommodations for both tent and RV campers with a variety of site types to choose from. The campground features 50 sites organized into three loops. The Lower Loop (sites 1-11) offers non-electric sites, while the Upper Loop (sites 12-45) provides electrical hookups with 50-amp, 30-amp, and 110-volt outlets. The Tent Loop (sites 46-50) is reserved for tent camping only. Each site includes a picnic table, tent pad, lantern post, and campfire ring with grill. Facilities include a bathhouse with hot showers and flush toilets, a dump station with potable water fill-up, and six water spigots distributed throughout the campground. Recreation opportunities abound, with about 40 miles of non-motorized trails available for hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding, plus 17 miles of motorized trails for OHV riding (open April 1 through December 15, trail pass required). Badin Lake offers excellent fishing, swimming, and boating. The campground is open year-round and operates on a mix of reservations through Recreation.gov and first-come, first-served availability.
