About
Bluffview Park is a day-use facility operated by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers on the southwest shore of B.A. Steinhagen Lake in Tyler County, Texas. The park is not an overnight campground; it provides picnic facilities and scenic overlooks for daytime visitors only. The park features numerous individual picnic sites with covered tables scattered throughout, available free of charge on a first-come, first-served basis. A large group picnic shelter equipped with electricity and water can be reserved through Recreation.gov for family reunions, birthday parties, and other gatherings at $45 per day. Modern flush restrooms and drinking water are available on site. An observation area offers excellent views of the lake, outlet structure, emergency spillway, and the R.D. Willis Powerhouse. B.A. Steinhagen Lake sits in the heart of the East Texas Pineywoods and provides opportunities for fishing, boating, and wildlife viewing. A small store across the road sells bait, fuel, and ice. For overnight camping at the lake, visitors should consider nearby Magnolia Ridge or Sandy Creek campgrounds.
