About
Boulder Creek Campground occupies a forested setting on the northwest shore of Antelope Lake, a quiet and remote 15-mile shoreline lake in California's northern Sierra Nevada. The campground provides 42 single-family campsites suitable for tents and RVs, with vault toilets, drinking water from faucets, picnic tables, and campfire rings at each site. While no sites sit directly on the lake, several offer limited water views and all are a short walk to the shore. Antelope Lake provides ample recreation opportunities including swimming, canoeing, kayaking, boating, and water skiing. A multi-lane boat ramp is located less than two miles from the campground. Anglers can fish for largemouth and smallmouth bass, bluegill, and various trout species. Indian Creek below Antelope Dam spillway offers additional fishing. The rugged terrain supports mountain biking, though hiking opportunities near the campground are limited. The campground features an amphitheater with educational campfire programs. Bears frequent the area, requiring proper food storage. The nearest services (gas, phone) are 25 miles away in Taylorsville. A 14-day camping limit applies per ranger district annually.
Directions
From Taylorsville, take County Road 112 (Antelope Lake Road) 23 miles to Antelope Lake. From Susanville, take the Janesville Grade 32 miles to the lake. From Oroville, take Highway 70 east 72 miles to Highway 89, turn left and go 8 miles, then right on Road A22 through Taylorsville to the rodeo grounds, turn right and continue 20 miles to Antelope Lake.
