Open for the 2026 season on a first-come, first-served basis. Potable water is typically turned on in May and off by September 30. The campground operates seasonally, generally mid-May through mid-October.

About
South Shore Campground is one of three campgrounds on the south side of Suttle Lake, a natural glacier-formed lake in Oregon's Cascade Mountains. The campground offers 38 sites shaded by Douglas fir and Ponderosa pine trees, with one section positioned directly on the shoreline and another nestled on a hillside above. Most sites provide lake views and glimpses of Mt. Washington. The campground features a boat launch, making it popular for power boating, sailing, water skiing, and windsurfing. Fishing opportunities include rainbow trout, kokanee salmon, and brown trout, with a fish cleaning station available on-site. The 3.2-mile Suttle Lake Shoreline Trail circles the lake and is open to hikers and mountain bikers. Each site includes a gravel parking spur, picnic table, and campfire ring. Vault toilets and potable water from hand pumps are provided. The town of Sisters is approximately 15 miles away for additional supplies and dining.
Directions
From Sisters, Oregon, take Highway 20 northwest for about 13 miles. Turn left onto Forest Road 2070 toward Suttle Lake Campgrounds. Travel approximately 1.5 miles to the South Shore entrance on the right.
