About

Camp Dick is a historic campground established on the site of a 1930s Civilian Conservation Corps camp in the Arapaho and Roosevelt National Forests. Situated at 8,650 feet elevation along Middle Saint Vrain Creek, the campground occupies a scenic glacial valley surrounded by mixed conifer and aspen forests with an open meadow. The 41 campsites accommodate tents, RVs, trailers, and campers. All sites include picnic tables and fire grates with grills. Potable water is available from hand pumps, and the campground provides vault toilets, trash services, and bear lockers at tent pad sites. There are no electrical hookups, dump stations, or showers. Middle Saint Vrain Creek offers quality fly-fishing for rainbow, brown, and cutthroat trout. Multiple trails depart from the area, including the Sourdough and Buchanan Pass trails, with the Indian Peaks Wilderness boundary four miles west. Mountain biking is permitted on the first five miles of Buchanan Pass Trail. The Peak to Peak Scenic Byway, Rocky Mountain National Park, and the town of Allenspark are all nearby.
