About
Ironwood Group Camp provides an excellent base for extended family or large group getaways in the San Bernardino Mountains of Southern California. Situated in a pine forest with a grassy meadow at 6,637 feet elevation, this reservation-only group campground offers a secluded setting just a few miles north of Big Bear Lake and the town of Fawnskin. The campground accommodates up to 25 people and 5 vehicles, with amenities including 4 picnic tables, 1 group fire ring, and 2 double pedestal grills. Vault toilets are provided on-site. The mature pine forest provides ample shade throughout the campground. Water availability is limited, so groups should fill RVs and trailers before arriving or bring adequate water supplies. Recreational opportunities abound in the surrounding area. The Big Pine Flat Recreational Shooting Range offers designated target shooting nearby. Numerous hiking, horseback riding, and mountain biking trails traverse the area. Big Bear Lake, just a short drive away, provides excellent fishing for trout, bluegill, crappie, catfish, and largemouth bass, along with boating opportunities. General stores and restaurants are available in Fawnskin, approximately 7 miles from the campground. A camp host is available at the nearby Big Pine Flat Family Campground for assistance during your stay.
