About
Located about 10 miles from Woodland Park, Meadow Ridge Campground is pleasantly situated on a ridge above Rampart Reservoir at 9,200 feet elevation. The campground sits in a ponderosa pine forest with surrounding terrain that includes grass meadows, spruce, Douglas fir, and aspen. The 19 campsites feature parking areas at least 30 feet long, with sites 12 and 13 developed for accessibility. Most other sites have steps leading to the table and fire ring area. The reservoir offers excellent fishing for rainbow and mackinaw trout. Hikers and mountain bikers can explore the 14-mile Rampart Reservoir Trail and Nichols Reservoir Trail. The campground is positioned in the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains, north of Pikes Peak, which rises to 14,110 feet. The area experiences heavy usage during the summer season. Facilities include vault toilets, trash collection, and potable water. This is a standard, non-electric campground. Each site includes a table and fire grate. Motorized and trailered boats may only launch on the reservoir Thursdays through Sundays from 7:00 am to 4:00 pm. Sites are available via Recreation.gov reservation during peak season, with first-come, first-served availability in early September.
