Redpoint Campground is a Bureau of Land Management facility situated along the picturesque Bear River in southeast Idaho, approximately nine miles north of Preston. This small, rustic campground features 10 developed campsites that operate on a first-come, first-served basis with no advance reservation system. At just $5 per vehicle per night, it offers an affordable camping option for those exploring the Bear River corridor.
The campground's riverside location makes it an ideal base for outdoor recreation. Visitors can enjoy fishing in the Bear River, launch non-motorized watercraft, and observe diverse wildlife in the riparian habitat. Each campsite is equipped with a picnic table and fire ring, and the campground provides vault toilets, horseshoe pits, and a children's play area for family entertainment.
Campers should come prepared to pack out all trash, as there are no dumpsters on site. The facility is managed by the BLM Pocatello Field Office, and all campground rules and regulations are posted at the site. The campground is accessed via Oneida Narrows Road along the Bear River, offering a peaceful setting away from major highways.
Directions
From Preston, Idaho, go north on ID 34 to about 6 miles north then turn right onto ID 36. Go about 3 miles and turn left on Oneida Narrows Road and go north along the Bear River to Redpoint Campground.
