About
Holder Cove Campground sits along Forest Road 210 (Tellico River Road), approximately 16 miles upstream from the ranger station. This small campground offers 7 first-come, first-served campsites, each with a picnic table, fire ring, and lantern post. The campground's location makes it particularly appealing to fishing enthusiasts who can wake at dawn and quickly access the nearby Tellico River and surrounding trout streams. The campground maintains a primitive character with vault toilets but no potable water on-site. Drinking water is available at nearby campgrounds along the river corridor. A waterfall trail can be accessed from the west side of the campground near the restrooms. The setting provides a quiet, wooded camping experience in the Cherokee National Forest without the crowds of larger developed campgrounds. Campers should be prepared to pay with cash or check at $10 per night for a single site. Interagency Senior and Access pass holders receive a 50% discount. Some sites may be reserved through Recreation.gov's Scan and Pay feature using the mobile app, though the campground primarily operates on a first-come, first-served basis.
Directions
From Tellico Plains, turn onto TN 165 for approximately 5 miles, then turn right onto Forest Road 210 past the Ranger Station. The campground is approximately 16 miles upstream.
