About
State Line Campground is a rustic riverside campground located on Forest Road 210 along the Tellico River, right at the Tennessee-North Carolina state line within Cherokee National Forest. The campground features 16 spacious first-come, first-served sites, each equipped with two picnic tables, two lantern posts, and a grill/fire ring. These generously sized sites can accommodate two 26-foot camping trailers and up to four vehicles, making it suitable for larger groups or families camping together. The campground's location directly adjacent to the Tellico River makes it an excellent base for anglers pursuing brown, rainbow, and brook trout. The river's cool waters and the surrounding forest provide a peaceful mountain camping experience. The campground is approximately 17 miles upstream from the Ranger Station on Forest Road 210, accessible via TN 165 from Tellico Plains. State Line Campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis with no advance reservations. Payment can be made on-site using cash, check, or by scanning a QR code with the Recreation.gov mobile app where cellular service permits. Campers should note that drinking water is not available on-site and must bring their own supply. Vault toilets are provided. Bear country food storage regulations are in effect, requiring all food and beverages to be stored in bear-proof containers, locked vehicles, or hard-sided campers when not in use.
Directions
From Tellico Plains, turn onto TN 165 for approximately 5 miles, then turn right onto Forest Road 210 past the Ranger Station. The campground is approximately 17 miles upstream on FR 210.
