About

State Line Campground is a rustic riverside campground located where Tennessee meets North Carolina along the Tellico River in the Cherokee National Forest. Each site includes two picnic tables, two lantern posts, and a grill/fire ring, with enough space for two 26-foot camping trailers and four vehicles. This is a first-come, first-served campground with no advance reservations. Visitors must arrive in person to claim and pay for a site. Payment can be made via QR code using the Recreation.gov mobile app, though the remote location has limited cellular service, so downloading the app beforehand is recommended. The campground has vault toilets but no potable water; drinking water is available at nearby campgrounds. Bear-proof food storage is required at all times when not actively preparing or eating food. The surrounding Tellico River corridor offers excellent fishing and scenic beauty in the Southern Appalachian Mountains.

Directions

From Tellico Plains, turn onto TN 165 for approximately 5 miles, turn right onto Forest Road 210 going past the Ranger Station. The campground is approximately 17 miles upstream.
