About
Wooded Hill Group Campground sits at 6,000 feet in the Laguna Mountains of Cleveland National Forest, offering a forested retreat just one hour east of San Diego. The single group site accommodates up to 110 people with 21 RV spurs ranging from 27 to 40 feet in length, making it suitable for organized groups camping with trailers or RVs up to 40 feet. The site is shaded by pines and oaks and includes vault toilets, picnic tables, and a large communal fire circle. The Laguna Mountains provide excellent opportunities for hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding. The Pacific Crest Trail passes nearby, and the Wooded Hill Nature Trail begins just west of the campground off Sunrise Highway, leading to the highest wooded point on Laguna Mountain with views extending to San Diego, Point Loma, and the Channel Islands on clear days. The campground operates seasonally from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend and requires advance reservations through Recreation.gov at least 3 days prior to arrival. There are no RV hookups; the nearest dump station is at Buckman Springs Rest Area, 4 miles east of Pine Valley on I-8.
