About

Wickham Gulch Campground is a small, primitive camping area situated on the Long Pines Unit of the Sioux Ranger District in the far southeastern corner of Montana. With only two campsites and a day use picnic area, this remote campground offers a quiet, back-to-basics experience at approximately 4,000 feet elevation. The campground is located near Capitol Rock National Natural Landmark, providing access to hiking and exploring the unique ponderosa pine forest landscape of the Long Pines. Each campsite is equipped with a picnic table and fire ring. A vault toilet serves the campground, and water is available from a spring that runs through the area but must be treated or filtered before consumption. The campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis with no reservation system and no camping fees. Visitors should be prepared to pack out all trash, as no trash service is provided. The 16-day stay limit allows for extended visits to explore this remote corner of the Custer Gallatin National Forest.
