About

White Rock Campground occupies a scenic creekside setting in Peña Blanca Canyon, named for the dramatic white limestone cliffs that split the campground into two sections. Located in the Tumacacori Mountains of southern Arizona's Coronado National Forest, the campground provides convenient access to nearby Peña Blanca Lake, a 50-acre impoundment known for largemouth bass, bluegill, redear sunfish, and channel catfish. The campground is divided into Upper White Rock with 13 sites off Forest Road 39, and Lower White Rock with 2 additional sites accessible from the road leading to the lake. Mature oak trees shade the sites, which include picnic tables and fire rings. Vault toilets are provided, but there is no potable water, so campers must bring their own supply. Firewood is not available and must be brought in. Due to its small size and proximity to the lake, White Rock fills quickly during the hot summer months when the lake sees peak visitation. A maximum RV/trailer length of 22 feet applies, and stays are limited to 14 days. Pets are welcome on leash. The lake permits electric trolling motors only and offers a paved boat ramp, fishing piers, and shoreline trails.
