About
Bog Springs Campground offers some of the most exceptional scenery in the Santa Rita Mountains, surprising many visitors with Arizona's diverse mountain ecosystems. Located in Madera Canyon within Coronado National Forest, the campground sits among high grasslands that climb the mountain slopes, thick oak woodlands, and conifer forests covering the peaks. The area provides stunning views either right from your campsite or a short walk away. The campground serves as an excellent base for exploring the area's trail system, with both the Dutch John Trail and Bog Springs Trail starting directly from the campground. At approximately 5,200 feet elevation, the site offers cooler temperatures than the desert below, making it a popular retreat. The area is also known for exceptional wildlife viewing and birdwatching opportunities. Operating year-round on a first-come, first-served basis, Bog Springs features 13 campsites nestled among the oaks and pines. The campground is located about 13 miles from Green Valley off I-19, making it relatively accessible while still feeling remote. Each site includes a picnic table and fire ring, with vault toilets available. The campground enforces quiet hours from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. and limits stays to 14 days per 60-day period.
