About
Andrew Molera Trail Camp offers a walk-in camping experience in one of Big Sur's most scenic state parks. Located about a quarter mile from the day use parking area, this environmental campground features 22 standard tent sites and 2 hike-and-bike sites spread throughout a meadow near the Big Sur River. Each site includes a fire ring, picnic table, and bear-proof food storage container. The campground provides potable water and flush toilets but no showers. Campers must park in the day use lot and walk their gear to camp. The sites accommodate up to 4 people and 2 tents per site. Due to limited parking, RVs, trailers, and towed vehicles are not permitted. Reservations are strongly recommended as sites fill up six months in advance. Andrew Molera State Park offers miles of trails through meadows, along the beach, and to high ridges with coastal views. The park provides excellent opportunities for hiking, wildlife viewing, and beach access. Wood gathering is prohibited, and all firewood must be purchased. Dogs are not allowed in the campground or on trails.
Directions
Park in the day use parking lot off Highway 1. From the parking area, hike approximately 1/4 mile to reach Trail Camp. Campground maps are available at the trailhead.
