Each campsite is equipped with a charcoal grill, fire ring, lantern holder, and picnic table, but no water, restrooms, or electricity is available. The forest's most notable feature is the narrow, winding Econlockhatchee River, designated as an Outstanding Florida Waterway, which flows 17 miles through the forest.
