About
West Camp Little Big Econ State Forest is a primitive, hike-in only campground located within Little Big Econ State Forest in Seminole County, approximately 40 miles east of Orlando. The campground consists of five individual primitive tent sites accommodating up to 6 people each, plus one group site that can accommodate up to 20 people. Each campsite is equipped with a charcoal grill, fire ring, lantern holder, and picnic table, but no water, restrooms, or electricity is available. The forest's most notable feature is the narrow, winding Econlockhatchee River, designated as an Outstanding Florida Waterway, which flows 17 miles through the forest. The area protects diverse natural communities including wet prairie, pine flatwoods, sandhill, and scrub habitats. Wildlife viewing opportunities include deer, turkey, alligators, Sherman's fox squirrels, gopher tortoises, bald eagles, roseate spoonbills, sandhill cranes, and wood storks. Recreational activities include hiking, canoeing, fishing, bird watching, and nature study. Campers must pack out all trash and be prepared for primitive conditions with no amenities.

From I-95, take exit 223 for FL-46 toward Sanford/Miami. Turn onto FL-46 W, then left onto County Road 426. Turn left onto Barr St. From I-4, take exit 101C for FL-46 toward Mt. Dora/Sanford Historic District. Turn onto FL-46 E, then right onto S. French Avenue/17-92. Turn left onto E 25th Street/FL-46 E, then slight right on County Road 426. Turn left onto Barr St.
