The Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection has issued an Air Quality Alert for Ground Level Ozone, from 11 AM this morning to 11 PM EDT this evening. An Air Quality Alert day means that Ground Level Ozone concentrations within the region may approach or exceed levels that are Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups. Air is unhealthy for sensitive children and adults, such as those with asthma, lung or heart disease, and older adults. Sensitive children and adults should limit prolonged outdoor activity. Watson Pond State Park is a 10-acre seasonal day-use park operated by the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation. The park features a 300-foot swimming beach with an adjacent picnic area, making it a popular destination for families during the summer months. Lifeguards are on duty seven days a week through Labor Day, subject to staff availability. The park includes a bath house with flush toilets, a playground, and multiple small charcoal grills for picnicking. A small pavilion with a concrete floor near the swimming beach can be reserved for group gatherings of up to 50 people. The pavilion area has flush toilets nearby and a dumpster on site. This is a day-use facility only and does not offer overnight camping, tent sites, or RV camping. Parking is available daily from 10:00am to 6:00pm with fees of $8 for Massachusetts residents and $15 for non-residents. Restrooms are open from 10:00am to 5:00pm.

Watson Pond State Park is located at 1644 Bay St., Taunton, MA 02780. From the north, take I-95 South to Exit 9, then follow Rt 140 South to the park entrance on the right.
