About

Watson Pond State Park is a 10-acre seasonal day-use facility situated on the east side of Watson Pond in northern Taunton, Massachusetts. Operated by the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation, this family-friendly park offers a range of recreational opportunities centered around its 300-foot swimming beach. The park amenities include beachfront picnic areas equipped with grills, a bathhouse, a playground, and a small pavilion that can be reserved for groups of up to 50 people. Visitors can enjoy swimming in the pond (with lifeguards on duty through Labor Day), fishing, and non-motorized boating. The park provides a peaceful escape with easy access from Route 495. Watson Pond State Park operates seasonally from Memorial Day weekend through Columbus Day, closing for the winter months. The pond was reopened for swimming in 2006 after water quality improvements. Day-use parking fees apply, and dogs are not permitted on the beach from May 1st through September 15th.
