About

Warm Springs Dispersed Site offers primitive camping in Montana's largest national forest, the Beaverhead-Deerlodge. Located in Madison County, this undeveloped dispersed camping area provides a true backcountry experience for self-sufficient campers seeking solitude away from developed campgrounds. As a dispersed site, there are no amenities such as potable water, toilets, trash service, or designated sites with fire rings or tables. Visitors must bring all necessary supplies including drinking water and must pack out all trash. The area is near Warm Springs Creek, offering fishing opportunities for rainbow, cutthroat, brook, and brown trout. Campers should be aware of the mandatory food storage order in effect March 1 through December 1 due to bear activity. Off-road vehicle use is prohibited on National Forest System lands. Winter access may be limited by snow and road conditions.
