About

Warm Springs Dispersed Site is located in Montana's largest national forest, the Beaverhead-Deerlodge, in Madison County. This primitive dispersed camping area offers visitors a true backcountry experience without the amenities of developed campgrounds. The site is subject to forest-wide regulations including a mandatory Food Storage Order due to bear activity and a 16-day stay limit within any 30-day period. As with all dispersed camping in the Beaverhead-Deerlodge National Forest, campers should practice Leave No Trace principles, camp at least 100 feet from water sources, and be prepared to pack out all trash. The forest provides opportunities for hiking, wildlife viewing, and fishing in the surrounding area. Winter access may be limited depending on snow conditions and road closures. Visitors should be self-sufficient and prepared for primitive conditions with no potable water, toilets, or other facilities on-site. Check current forest orders and conditions with the Madison Ranger District before visiting.
