About
Ward Lake Campground occupies a scenic location at 10,200 feet elevation along the shores of Ward Lake on Colorado's Grand Mesa. The campground features 27 first-come, first-served campsites spread among spruce trees, with sites offering varied settings from open lakefront locations to more secluded, shaded spots tucked back from the water. Maximum spur length is 45 feet, accommodating larger RVs and trailers. The campground provides convenient access to Ward Lake and the extensive network of over 300 alpine lakes and reservoirs scattered across Grand Mesa. Anglers can fish directly from camp, and the lake allows motorized boating. Each campsite includes a picnic table and fire pit. Vault toilets are provided, though potable water is not available on-site. Due to the high elevation and alpine environment, mosquitoes can be abundant during summer months. The campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis only with no advance reservations. Two vehicles and up to 8 people are allowed per site. Quiet hours are enforced from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., and sites must be occupied the first night and cannot remain unoccupied for 24 hours.

From Cedaredge, CO, take State Highway 65 north 15.6 miles to Forest Road 121 and camping symbol sign. Turn right onto Forest Road 121 and go 0.5 miles to campground sign. Turn right at sign into campground.
