The semi-rustic log cabin features a living area and bedroom on the main floor, plus a basement bathroom with flush toilet and shower. The kitchen is equipped with a refrigerator, electric stove, basic cookware, and utensils. Electric lighting and heat are provided. Sleeping accommodations include a queen size sofa sleeper and three twin beds, with space for air mattresses to accommodate up to eight guests total. Located at 9,500 feet elevation in the Mesa Lakes Recreation Area of Grand Mesa National Forest, the cabin is perched on a grassy lawn partially shaded by large pines, surrounded by spruce, fir, and aspen trees. The cabin sits near several mountain lakes, including Waterdog and Jumbo Reservoirs, with Mesa Creek flowing nearby. Wildlife including deer, elk, and moose frequent the area. The popular West Bench Trail #501 for mountain biking and horseback riding connects the seven lakes of Mesa Lakes Recreation Area, and a carry-down boat ramp for non-motorized boats is within walking distance. The Grand Mesa Scenic Byway passes nearby, offering 63 miles of scenic driving through forests, lakes, and wildflower meadows. The cabin is about 45 minutes from Grand Junction.
