About

Big Creek Campground is a seasonal Forest Service campground located on Grand Mesa in western Colorado, accessible from either Cedaredge or Collbran. The campground provides shaded sites in a forested setting with vault toilets and potable water available from a hand pump. Most sites accommodate vehicles up to 33 feet in length. The area offers diverse recreation opportunities including hiking trails, OHV routes, fishing, and jeep roads. The campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis with no advance reservations. Campers can pay on-site using the Recreation.gov mobile app's Scan and Pay feature, though cellular service may be limited so downloading the app beforehand is recommended. From Cedaredge, take Colorado Highway 65 north 12.6 miles, turn right on Forest Road #121 and continue 10 miles to the campground on the west side of the road. From Collbran, at the Access Grand Mesa sign, take County Road 58 south 1.9 miles, turn left at the T for 5.8 miles to Forest Road #521, then continue approximately 7.2 miles to the campground.
