About

Versailles State Park is Indiana's second-largest state park, spanning over 5,900 acres in the scenic hill country of southeastern Indiana near the town of Versailles. The main campground consists of 226 electric sites divided into three sections (A, B, C) with paved camping pads, 30-amp electrical hookups, fire rings, and picnic tables. An equestrian campground offers 9 additional electric sites with 50-amp service and hitching posts for campers with horses. The centerpiece of the park is a 230-acre lake stocked for fishing, where visitors can rent canoes, kayaks, and rowboats. A seasonal swimming pool operates from Memorial Day weekend through summer. The park offers more than 20 miles of horse trails, multiple hiking trails ranging from easy to difficult, and designated mountain bike trails. The Bradt Nature Area features an accessible observation deck and interpretive trail. Facilities include modern bath houses with restrooms and showers, comfort stations, an RV dump station, and a camp store. The nature center provides interpretive programs and displays about the park's natural and cultural history.
