About

Twin Lakes State Park Campground is a 175-acre modern facility located on the southwest shore of Lake Roland in Michigan's Copper Country. The campground features 62 sites with 20-amp and 30-amp electrical service, with some sites offering 50-amp hookups. Several sites offer lakefront access. The campground includes a modern toilet and shower building, sanitation station, and a mini cabin that sleeps four. The park is situated on Lake Roland and Lake Gerald, two of the warmest inland lakes in the Upper Peninsula, making them popular for swimming, fishing, and paddling. A designated swimming beach with a buoyed area is located in the day-use area, along with a boating access site. The park is one of the few Michigan state parks that allows ORV operation between the campground and nearby trail systems, providing direct access to the Bill Nicholls Trail and connections to Bewabic and Baraga state parks. Recreational opportunities include hiking, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, and metal detecting in designated areas. The park serves as an excellent base camp for exploring nearby attractions including Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park and Keweenaw National Historic Park. Day-use amenities include picnic shelters, playground equipment, and volleyball court.
