About
Tilden Regional Park is a 2,077-acre park nestled in the Berkeley Hills, offering group-only primitive camping with stunning views of the San Francisco Bay Area. The park features three group campsites: New Woodland (capacity 17-50), Wildcat View (capacity 17-75), and Gillespie (capacity 17-75). New Woodland includes a storage building, fire circle with amphitheater seating, and drinking water. Wildcat View has a shelter and storage container. Gillespie is the only site that permits beer and wine with a valid permit. As primitive group sites, amenities are basic but functional: each campsite has chemical toilets, picnic tables, BBQ grills, fire rings, and access to drinking water. There are no showers or flush toilets. Check-in is at 2:00 PM and checkout is at 12:00 PM. Quiet hours are enforced from 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM. Reservations are required and can be made through ReserveAmerica or by calling the EBRPD Reservations Department. Group camping is limited to 7 nights per month per park. Some sites allow dogs overnight; check your specific reservation for pet policies.
